Contraindications

ALL SERVICES ARE CONTRAINDICATED IN THE CASE OF: 

• Signs or symptoms of infectious diseases, skin rashes, flare ups, fever or unknown, untreated suspicious symptoms.

• If the service would exacerbate the condition or worsen the symptoms of the condition. 

• While intoxicated or on illegal drugs.

Bodywork is Contraindicated in the case of:

• Within 6 weeks of any surgery without a doctor's clearance.

• Within the 1st Trimester of pregnancy unless you were a client prior to pregnancy. 

• While receiving radiation treatments or topical cancer treatments of any kind.

• If body is currently fighting off a known infection or if there are signs of infection present (heat, swelling, lethargy, fever)

•  While taking blood thinners or NSAIDS 

• During or just after a stroke, or heart attack. Requires doctor's note of clearance.

• While in shock. (sudden drop in blood pressure)

• Meningitis

• Presence of severe internal unexplained pain

• Hemorrhage

• Severe Atherosclerosis

• Acute Pneumonia

• Pregnant and experiencing Eclampsia

• Hemophilia

• Advanced Kidney Failure

• Respiratory Failure

• Liver Failure

• Appendicitis

• Metastatic Cancers (Lymphoma, Malignant Melanoma)

• Diabetes Type 1 or 2 with advanced heart, kidney disease, or advanced vascular complications

• Advanced Organ failure

• Pitting Edema

• Chronic Active Hepatitis

• Endocarditis/Pericarditis

• Lung Abscess or Tumor

• Sepsis or Bacteremia (blood stream infections)

• Severe burns including Sun burns

 

Reiki is not contraindicated and is regarded as a completely safe and gentle practice. However, please ask about a distance reiki session if you are showing signs of illness to avoid spread to the practitioner.
